Black River Retreat

WOW! I'm almost afraid to write this review because I don't want too many people to find this incredible place. We spent a truly perfect two days at BRR. The place is kitschy in the very best ways, it exudes romance and provided so many opportunities to connect with my wife. The food was so delicious, it felt like every meal was a 5-star dining experience. Trevor has really thought of everything to make sure you have the perfect stay. This will be an annual tradition for us moving forward!

My husband and I booked this resort for our anniversary and we had the most memorable experience! Trevor was so kind and attentive to our needs and went above and beyond with his culinary skills! Beyond that, Trevor's place is a magical land of fairytales. The love and effort put into the place is evident through the smallest of details and it truly is a once in a lifetime experience. Highly recommend booking this retreat!

My husband and I stayed at the retreat for our one year wedding anniversary and had an amazing time. Trevor, our host, thought of every detail, and the property, food and grounds were stunning. We would for sure return, and look forward to experiencing the retreat in the Fall next time.

This is a very unique and special experience. There are so many fine details making this an extraordinary getaway. The accommodations are amazing! The service is fantastic! The privacy, romance, and nature are a few of the things that make this a memorable experience. You will not be disappointed.

This was an incredible weekend. We thought we were going for a little weekend getaway but our weekend in the Enchanted Forest was so much more than that. Only one couple here at a time. The peace, quiet and calmness was a time for reminiscing, reconnection and remembering why we got married 48 years ago. Trevor is the perfect host, quiet and unobtrusive but attentive at the same time. And the meals were absolutely perfect. Walks in the forest, sitting in the hot tub while the snow drifted down, and what can I say about the cuddle chair other than I want one.

Thank you for your amazing hospitality and attention to detail. Everything was perfect for a romantic getaway for our anniversary. You have created such an intimate and enchanting wonderland; the food was beautiful and delicious and our host was absolutely charming. Thank you for a magical fairy-tale weekend.
